After a week of no children (they were at their grandparents’ for spring break), they made their way back home yesterday! It’s nice to have them back home. Now, Jason is done with his master’s paper, so we can get back to some serious family time!
While the kids were gone, Jason and I enjoyed ‘dating’ again for a few days. It’s nice having lunch with my husband everyday, just hanging out with each other, and getting to go to restaurants and take as long as we wanted to. A nice respit. Big thanks to both sets of parents for helping out this last week!!!
Tomorrow April begins, and I’m going to get back on track with a lot of my goals for the year. Things have been on hold a bit at the Gordon house, awaiting the completion of “The Paper”. But now…no more excuses. I’m back on the elliptical tonight, hoping to work my lungs and legs back into shape and start my classes at the gym again on Monday. Friday I am going to enjoy scrapbooking with the girls for Brandi’s birthday, and would love to make some progress with that (I’m SO far behind!).
Now that the kids are back, I’m sure I’ll have more blog material!!!

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
Something that is always a good reminder for me…when my mind wants to take off. I’m a planner…which can be a good thing at times, but can also get me into trouble. I want to know…I don’t do surprises well…I like details. There are many times that God has to tell me to just be still, and let Him be God.
What I like about this reminder for me is not only to be still and know that He is God, but the promise that He will be exalted…no matter the circumstances, no matter the place…He will be exalted.

Please excuse my blog silence for a while. All is well…we are just very busy.
Jason is finishing his master’s paper which is due in a couple of weeks. So, computer time is limited and things are a bit more hectic.
I will return to regular blogging soon!

Yes, I’ve been in blog silence. Jason has been gone the past couple of days working on his extended research paper for his Master’s degree, and that means the laptop was gone too. Our older laptop has now decided to not work properly, so that leaves internet access through the Wii (yes, I realize how techie this makes our home sound…how I love my husband). You can imagine how daunting writing a blog post would be pointing a remote at a keyboard on the television. Updating my facebook status was about as far as I went.
Anyway! Jason is back and things are somewhat back to normal. How much respect I have for single parents!
So, I teased this funny post last week sometime, and now that I have the pictures–here goes. For those who know Abbie, you know that she LOVES to draw. This girl definitely did not get her artist abilities from me! And she is always thinking…always, whether it’s asking questions or coming up with her own ideas. Well, two weeks ago she presented one of her ideas.
She spends each afternoon at the church with Jason after he picks her up from school until he’s done for the day. Most afternoons, she’s drawing or reading or watching a DVD in the nursery. Well, this particular afternoon they were still at the church when Peyton and I got home, so we walked over to see them. As we were all getting ready to leave, Abbie runs up to me and says, “You have to see what I did on the Welcome Center”. I just assumed that she put her papers up there so we wouldn’t forget to bring them home. But she says, “It’s my sign up sheet”.
For those of you who don’t read Abbie’s handwriting on a regular basis, here’s the translation (she said she ran out of room, so the bottom line should be read first…then the top line). Put yr (your) name en (in) for being en (in) the flower club.
For me, I just found this to be hilarious…although admittedly, it was more funny when it happened then as I’m writing about it now. It was just pure Abbie Creativity! It does amaze me how much writing she does on her own now…it’s nice to know she is learning! And she knows that the welcome center is where a lot of sign ups are and she decided that her friends need to be in a flower club. So I asked her what exactly a flower club was, and she responded that they will all wear their favorite flower to church and they can tell each other how beautiful they look.
Not wanting to squelch this creativity, I gently suggested that we put the sign up sheet in Daddy’s office so it didn’t get lost. The good news is, she forgot about it before the next Sunday.
