This post is WAY overdue! And I have lots of pictures!!! A couple of weeks ago, we had Pumpkin Family Night (which actually turned into pumpkin weekend).
First we went to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins. The kids also enjoyed a pony ride and some other fun!
Once we got home, I made some “pumpkin snacks” to tide the kids over while I made “Dinner in a Pumpkin”. They also got a fun Pumpkin Drink (Orange Crush rimmed with green sugar). We had to get a little creative because the candy pumpkins on the stemware were a little heavier than I envisioned…so a lot of bending of the pipe cleaners was required to get them to stay up!
We picked up some gourds, and each made our own “person” complete with clothes, hair and face to make one big gourd family–the “Gourd”ons.
Later that night we enjoyed some roasted pumpkin seeds from our harvest, and made some super-easy pumpkin muffins with cream cheese icing (the kids added some pumpkin sprinkles).
We topped the whole pumpkin weekend by getting together with some friends for some pumpkin carving!!! It was all a lot of fun!
